King of Salem
This King have I known
So gracious
That his subjects are victorious
Not under condemnation
But under an everlasting commendation
He hanged his robe of majesty
And took that of meekness
This King have I known
Who considers not his subjects as slaves
Nor lords over his subjects
Rather, loves them
He laid down his crown and scepter
Took their crown of thorns
And their burden of the cross
This King have I known
Who calls those He’s saved – His bride
Who will now bring up any charge against her?
Not in this life and certainly not in the next
She is under an everlasting commendation
What an everlasting King He is!
King of Salem.
